Vaccine at Last
At NIH’s COVID-19 Vaccine Kick-Off Event, held on December 22, 2020, six frontline health-care workers at the NIH Clinical Center received the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine that was codeveloped by researchers at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Vaccine Research Center. In addition, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, NIH Director Francis Collins, NIAID Director Anthony Fauci (pictured), and Office of Research Services Director Colleen McGowan also received the vaccine.
