What could be better than a big festival celebration? How about a festival celebrating science! Sounds like a nerd’s dream, right?

Well, my first NIH Research Festival as a postbac was a blast! The 2015 event brought together diverse researchers across scientific disciplines to share the stories of their research. As an added bonus, I had the opportunity to interview a few of the poster presenters about what they’re up to in the lab that promises to improve the health of people around the world. Check out my first couple of videos below to witness what an only-slightly-nervous rookie reporter can gather in the field.

Dr. Brenda Klaunberg, Animal Imaging Program Director at the NIH Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF), explains a few tidbits on the services her trans-NIH core provides to Intramural researchers:

And in this video, Assistant Clinical Investigator Michael Ombrello, M.D., and Postdoctoral Fellow Apratim Mitra, Ph.D., share the story of their potentially fortuitous placement next to each other during one of the #ResearchFest poster sessions:

Continue following our blog posts and the NIH IRP’s YouTube channel for more videos to come from the 2015 event. I look forward to next year and hopefully seeing you there September 14–16, 2016!
