OFFICE OF DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS PUBLISHES 2025–2029 STRATEGIC PLAN

blue and purple strategic plan announcement flyer

Beginning in 1998 and updated periodically, ODS has created and implemented a strategic plan based on its mandates and mission as provided by Congress and in tandem with the overarching mission of NIH to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.

The Strategic Plan 2025–2029 outlines a visionary framework for creating an expansive dietary supplement research agenda, which will promote greater collaboration and coordination of innovative dietary supplement research across NIH and the federal government. This plan also articulates ODS’ scientific priorities of diverse populations, healthy lifespan, and resilience, along with ODS’ primary goals to advance research, expand research capacity, and foster stewardship, collaboration, and accountability.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH VIDEO COLLECTION EXPANDED

The NIH Library is pleased to announce the expansion of its JoVE Education video collection. NIH staff can now access over 18,000 videos illustrating key concepts, research techniques, and experiments across multiple science disciplines—including new modules in statistics, chemistry, and physics.

Complete JoVE access from the NIH Library includes:

  • JoVE Journal: Peer-reviewed journal with articles published in video and text format.
  • JoVE Encyclopedia of Experiments: Video encyclopedia of advanced research experiments.
  • JoVE Science Education: A library of videos that illustrate research methods, concept application, and real-world examples.
  • JoVE Lab Manual: Curriculum-focused video resources for commonly taught introductory labs with step-by-step instructions.
  • JoVE Core: Video textbooks that bring introductory concepts and methods to life.
