Unlocking a Way to Boost the Immune System

Nobody likes to get sick, but people with weakened immune systems need extra help fighting off illness. Milo Taylor, a postbaccalaureate fellow in the Intramural Research Program at the National Institutes of Health, is studying the interactions between molecules that work like locks and keys to enable immune cells to recognize and fight infections. Milo's research could eventually allow doctors to help patients fight life-threatening infections by giving them immune cells donated by healthy people.
