As an organization, we may group our investigators into Institutes and Centers, but nature inevitably fails to respect the artificial institutional boundaries that we create—and that is a wonderful thing. Thus, scientists in different Institutes often find themselves sharing research interests, goals and techniques.
Like all research institutes, we have developed some recognized scientific strengths over time. We invite you to learn about our major areas of scientific inquiry by starting with the small sampling of topics below.
Over time, we will be adding to this list to fully showcase the breadth and depth of research being conducted within the Intramural Research Program. Additional information about Scientific Interest Groups at NIH can be found at: http://www.nih.gov/sigs/.
