When it comes to recruiting the best and brightest, NIH attracts young scientists from all disciplines. The Intramural Research Program (IRP) is home to approximately 1,200 tenured and tenure-track investigators and 5,000 trainees embedded in 23 different Institutes and Centers. The IRP provides a uniquely diverse environment that encourages and supports innovative, high-impact research.

Eight early-career scientists joined the IRP through the inaugural 2009-2010 Stadtman Investigator search.
