Tenure-Track Investigator, NIDDK

The Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Obesity Branch within the intramural NIDDK program at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland is seeking an outstanding scientist (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) to direct a vigorous, innovative research program focused on the neuroscience of diabetes, metabolic disorders, or obesity. We are seeking the strongest possible candidate and thus are flexible about the specific research topic related to these areas. Applicants must also have mentoring skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, world-class research program complementary to current investigations within the intramural NIDDK program. The position comes with generous start up funds and on-going support will be provided from intramural research funds.
There are strong interactions among the independent research groups, and the position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within NIDDK and throughout NIH.
